The Recliing Lift Chair – Giving Back Mobility to Immobilized Patients in Columbus, OH

A reclining lift chair can greatly remedy a person’s mobility problems. If you have a family member in Columbus, OH who has limited mobility due to the effects of old age, a recent stroke, accident, or other ailments, you might want to invest in a contraption that can make him move on his own.

When a person relies on other people for simple movements like lying down or sitting up, it can be very tormenting not only for his family members but for himself as well. The feeling of being totally useless can have severe psychological effects and can cause the patient’s health to deteriorate even faster.

There are numerous orthopedic products that can greatly improve a patient’s mobility. Wheelchairs, stairlifts, and lift chairs are devices that can make him move on his own or with very limited supervision if ever. An infinite position lift chair, for example, will allow the patient to position himself in different positions; from a full recline (or the Trendelenburg position) to a full upright sit.

The beauty of it all is that he can change his position by simply pushing a button on a handheld control. There are many uses for a reclining lift chair. Computer users who have serious back problems that hinder them from making simple motions such as bending slightly forward can find such a contraption very handy.

This simple action can be very painful if you use ordinary chairs like an office chair, computer chair, or even a stool.

It’s a good thing that Columbus, OH is home to companies who specialize in these mobility solutions. Local companies like Spin Life, American Medical Equipment, Columbus Mobility Specialists, and United Seating & Mobility are among the leaders in the industry. Purchasing an orthopedic device from a local supplier can have many advantages. Perhaps the most notable is having your concerns acted upon immediately.

Essential Oils have a Powerful Impact on Health

An essential oil is a volatile, aromatic liquid that is generally distilled from the stems, leaves, flowers, roots, bark, or seeds of a plant. Containing the true essence of the plant, the essential oils are highly concentrated and far more potent than dried herbs.

The science of using essential oils is known as aromatherapy. This science is used for psychological and physical well being and for best results, only pure and natural oils should be used.

The origins of aromatherapy date back thousands of years. From documented uses by Napoleon, to references in the Bible, fragrant oils and spices have played a prominent role throughout world history.

Essential oils can be used in many different ways. The English model advocates massage by diluting small amounts of essential oil in a vegetable oil and massaging the body for the purpose of relaxation and relieving stress. The French model includes both ingestion and undiluted topical application. The French believe that taking the oils internally produces the best results. A common method to ingest the oil is to add a few drops of honey, a piece of bread, or in a small drop of vegetable oil. The German model focuses on inhalation. The effect of fragrance on the sense of smell can exert a strong effect on the brain and limbic system. Research has shown that some essential oils can increase oxygenation and activity in the brain.

By using a combination of these three methods, the use of essential oils can be versatile and powerful. In his book, Gary Young suggests that inhalation of essential oils will increase growth hormone secretion, induce weight loss, or balance mood and emotions. Topical applications can produce results with spinal or muscle injuries or defects. He says, “The ability of an essential oil to act both on the mind and the body is what makes them truly unique among natural therapeutic agents.” The fragrance of an essential oil can be very stimulating–both psychologically and physically. The fragrance of other essential oils may be calming and relaxing, helping to overcome anxiety or hyperactivity. On a physiological level, essential oils may stimulate immune function and regenerate damaged tissue. Essential oils may also combat infectious disease by killing viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.

Dr. David Hill, a chiropractor who sees patients from all around the world seeking to receive the healing power of essential oils, says, “I personally have seen the healing properties of essential oils used to treat cancer and many forms of autoimmune disease with spectacular results. For example, it has been discovered that the essential oils of sandalwood has tremendous effect on combating specific types of cancer. Others like frankincense, myrtle, and white fir have been shown to have an effect against specific forms of cancer. Essential oils can build the immune system, offer support to body organs, aid in digestion, and reduce inflammation, just to name a few.”

Although essential oils are generally considered without risk, it is wise to respect their powers and become well versed in their use and safety. As beneficial as essential oils are, it is prudent to note the purity is as important as safety. According to Dr. Hill, “Efficacy can only be fully realized when there is proper care given to protect the delicate chemical balance associated with essential oils during the distillation process.”

Generally speaking, the essential oils that you find in department stores, and even health food stores, are of uncertain quality. When choosing an essential oil, be sure to select a guaranteed, therapeutic grade essential oil. In addition, select and use those oils whose scent you find particularly appealing. The whole principal of aromatherapy is that it should be a pleasurable experience. There will generally be more than one oil you can use for a particular purpose, so you should be able to find one you like.

All About Bad Breath, its Symptoms & Prevention

Bad breath (or halitosis medical term root from Latin) can be a serious handicap on your social or business life. It is a source of embarrassment and shame. Bad breath or halitosis has been a problem for mankind since the beginning of most of recorded history. Never before have there been effective treatments for this condition until now. Latest technology promises the Dentists to measure the extent of Bad breath by an instrument named the “Halimeter”.

Most people will notice the advertising media is saturated with products promoted to help with this condition. Most, if not all of them, really do not work very long and some make the problem worse. Alcohol based mouthwashes can, for example, dry out the tissues in the mouth and cause the tissues to secrete plasma proteins which worsen the condition over time. Odors coming from the stomach are almost never the cause of chronic bad breath.

It is estimated by many experts in the field that 85% to 90% of the bad breath conditions come from sources in the mouth. Many products are marketed for the treatment of bad breath. These products include: Alcohol Mouth washes, Special Cosmetic Toothpastes, Brushing with Baking Soda, Mouth Sprays, mints and gums which only temporarily treat the problem.

Some people have found that the elimination of all dairy products can help with the control of bad breath odors. A few others have found the elimination of all soy products to help. To prevent the Bad breath the following will be the tips like Use a tongue cleaner, avoiding coffee, Cleaning mouth after eating milk products, fish and meat and Eat fresh, fibrous vegetables.

It is not correct to say that it is primarily caused by gum diseases as some will tell you. If periodontal disease (Gum disease) is present as a cause, some of the pockets around the teeth must be cleaned out to rid the source of bacteria putrefaction causing odor and disease there. The periodontal disease must be treated by a Dentist or Periodontist.

Bio-Feedback Machine Offers Exciting Opportunity for Healing

Some days are more exciting than others. Recently, I met with a distributor of an extraordinary bio-feedback machine that has changed the way we look at natural healing methods.

Using quantum physics, the QXCI/SCIO bio-feedback machine runs a scan through your entire body, looking for viruses, fungi and other problems from A to Za total of 92,000 areas are checked in a matter of minutes.

The basis of the QXCI/SCIO technology is the transmission of 65 million tiny electron-magnetic signals into the body, many times per second. These pulses map the body and its organs and reveal abnormalities. The signals feed back to the QXCI/SCIO machine and without the person even being aware of any effect or any sensation, the machine calculates a mathematical model based on the voltage, amperage and resistance of the body.

Like other bio-feedback machines, connectors are strapped to your body and the computer runs the scan. After my scan, the machine came up with several issues, not unknown to me, but I was surprised they were showing up. The machine came up with three separate readings for thyroid and recommendations for treatment. I thought I had those issues well treatedbut the machine said more work needed to be done. One issue I had not expected to have reported was a mouth soreI didn’t have one, so I thought, and the cynic in me left feeling slightly triumphant. The next morning, sure enough, a mouth sore was in my right cheekjust as the machine had indicated. Wow! I was shocked. How could this machine detect something that hadn’t appeared?

Detection is based on quantum physics (energy). The energy in one’s body changes, whenever, something is ‘brewing’ or in full bloom. The mouth sore was ‘brewing’ but had not erupted yet. Unfortunately, although forewarned, I didn’t forearm. The machine suggests and tests for the suitability of homeopathic remedies. It also works with the person’s unconscious. How can that be, you might exclaim. Quantum physics (energy) is the answer. Your conscious, unconscious and subconscious thoughts are energy and the machine can detect the energy of anger, sadness, panic, anxiety, etc.

The machine reveals if your hydration is sufficient. Mine is not and I know thatand the machine detected that my hydration is low. The machine also detects the presence of worms, viruses, bacteria, toxins, and fungi.

The machine can treat the issue through energy impulses radiating into the designated area. My left hip rotates slightly due to an injury sustained when I was 10-years-old. I faithfully work with a chiropractor to keep the hip in the proper position, but the muscle in the hip and lower back area is sensitive to moving from sitting to standing. After a few minutes of treatment the sensitivity disappeared. With that I was a believer and advocate. I became such an advocate, I bought a machine and training to be a QXCI/SCIO technician. I will add the QXCI/SCIO machine as another item in my ‘bag of professional tricks,’ along with hypnosis and regression effective May 1, 2006. To date there are 18,000 machines in use worldwide. The session takes 90 minutessometimes the wait to see a doctor is longer than that.

After twenty years of research, Professor William Nelson invented the QXCI/SCIO machine. It is the first of its kind to use a Double Blind approach. By dealing on a subconscious level, only the system is aware of the thousands of items being tested. Neither the operator nor the person being tested can influence the scan. In less than five minutes, this non-invasive scanning process can screen the following.

* Food Sensitivities
* Nutritional Deficiencies
* Spinal/Cranial Sacral
* Dental/TMJ
* Adrenal Function
* Environmental Factors
* Hormone Levels
* Mental Energy
* Organ Function
* Hydration/Oxygenation
* Acid/Alkaline Balance
* Toxicitiesexposure to excess chemicals, heavy metals, mercury
* Trauma (damage)includes physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual
* Pathogensbacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites
* Homeopathic Therapy
* Allergy Testing & Desensitization
* Meridian Therapy/Electro-Acupuncture
* Chakra Balancing
* Weight-Loss Remedy
* Risk Profile Analysis
* Anti-Aging Remedy
* Emotional Release
* Auto-Frequency Remedy
* Color Remedy
* Electrodermal Screening

Born in the U.S. and currently living in Budapest, Hungry, Professor William Nelson, is a world renowned scientist and former Apollo project engineer. In 1970, when Apollo experienced reentry problems, he had the vision and skills to calculate the mathematics to reprogram the gyros in the navigation system and Apollo landed safely. His expertise includes: Quantum Biology, Energetic Medicine, Homeopathy, Holistic Healing and Naturopathy.

Will a Clean Colon Prolong Your Life?

At the turn of the 20th century, Ilya Metchnikoff won a Nobel Prize for his discovery of how your body uses its white blood cells to fend off infections. He was one of the most respected scientists of his time. As he grew older, he set out to find out how he could prolong his life. He noticed that people who lived in the mountains of Hungary appear to live to a very old age. He knew that they ate yogurt every day and that yogurt is loaded with lactobacilli, bacteria that can grow in your intestinal tract. He felt that these good bacteria displaced bad bacteria that normally live in your intestines and secrete toxins that shorten your life.

Don’t laugh: the autointoxication theory was a respected scientific theory in the early 20th century. Many people took enemas regularly because they thought that it would clean out their colons and help to prolong their lives. The theory of autointoxication was that food that is not absorbed in the upper intestinal tract passes to your colon, where bacteria ferment it to form poisons that are absorbed into your bloodstream to shorten your life and even cause cancer. To prevent this, its practitioners taught that you should get enemas to rid yourself of the unabsorbed food.

No scientific evidence supports this foolishness. While many of you will find this story funny, realize that enemas were part of John Harvey Kellogg’s treatments at the Sanitorium in Battle Creek, Michigan where he treated the Roosevelts, Fords, Chryslers, Rockefellers and other prominent people of the early 20th century. Some entrepreneurs who try to sell you colon cleansing products still promote these outdated ideas today.

If you suffer from constipation, check with your doctor to see if you have thyroid disease or an obstruction. If you have no disease, the odds are overwhelming that you can be cured by avoiding white flour and bakery products, eating whole grains, beans, vegetables and fruit so you get lots of fiber; drinking enough fluids and getting plenty of exercise.

The Healing Arts: 18 Things Healers Learn, #17; Answers Appear In the Space In Between

It has been said of Frank Sinatra that his power as a singer was not so much in what he did with the notes, but what he did with the space in between those notes. In music, tones come out of nowhere and recede back into nothing, and their relationship with each other and those spaces combine to make up the body of a complete piece that moves us. There is no music without the space in between; it is defined by it.

There are no words without the space in between. There is nothing that exists without the space in between. It is as integral and essential as the matter that defines our universe.

The space in between is not empty, for too much goes on there. It is a place, however, where there are no distractions; a free space through which everything else comes forth as a result of interaction. Without it, we would be an immense, formless thing called “the One.” In one sense, the space in between is the glue that holds us apart. Out of that space comes creation.

Within that space there occurs a sorting and assimilation of factors from all levels of experience; the immediate physical, the current emotional, the symbolic, and the accumulation of past experiences into an expression of a new moment. So much of this goes unnoticed, it is no surprise that a new thought often appears to “come from nowhere.”

Of course that nowhere is the space in between where everything that is available to you – both seen and unseen – coalesces into a subtle shift that defines the direction of the next moment.

Have you ever had the experience of discovering a new connection, finding a new way to see things, or seeing something for the first time within the context of the familiar? Where did those experiences come from? Perhaps it is an indication that the space in between is where thought becomes reality; the passageway through which energy becomes matter. No matter how you view it, the space in between is anything but a vacuum. And it is where co-creation occurs.

Find a partner (or two or three) and stand a few feet away from each other. One of you will use your hands and body to define the dimensions and weight of an invisible ball. Make sure the other(s) can see what is being done, then, that person will toss it to one of the others, who will catch what is thrown to her, form it into a ball of a different size, shape and weight, and throw it back to another to catch.

Was that a real experience?

There is nothing in your hands at the beginning. Out of that nothing evolves a shape. To that shape is added weight. Once that “ball” leaves your hands, something happens to it enroute; the recipient’s interpretation of what you offered is imposed on that object and it begins to morph into something else. At first, it is an approximation of the ball that was first defined. Then, it gets translated from the vision of the originator into the vision of the recipient; essentially, run through the filters of the recipient’s life and his relationship with the moment.

There is a point at which the ball is neither the originator’s nor the recipient’s. It becomes a unique expression of where the two meet. In essence, all interactions happen this way. An originating moment gets affected by outside influences and becomes a new moment.

The acts of observation, interpretation, and response all take place in the space in between the illusion of empty time that exists between moments. The space in between is where everything that is in front of you is assimilated with everything you’ve ever experienced to that point in your life – and pitted against the influences of the moment. Out of that relationship, something happens. The space in between is the place where you get the directions about how, what, where, and when the tools that you’ve been gifted with are to be used, and how they can be applied to the situation/person at hand.

The power and effectiveness of what you do are determined right there. If what you choose to do doesn’t work, where do you go? Right back into the space in between to find a new approach.

The implication for the healer lies in recognizing that the space in between is not about the originator, it is about the new that springs forth from the interplay between originator and recipient. It is a by-product of that connection, rather than a reflection of one point of view.

For the healer, working with the space in between means keeping it as uncluttered by self as possible. In that way, the special healing alchemy that results when two people come together can be allowed to come to full realization.

Aromatherapy: Using Perfumes and Essential Oils

“The soul of man in love is full of perfumes and sweet odours”. Plutarch.

In our times, all the finest produce of the whole world is usually available to us from our local stores. We live with affluence beyond any previously known era in history which allows us choices regarding what were once luxury items. This applies particularly to our use of perfume both as a means of sensory satisfaction as well as for more practical purposes. Perfume continues to provide a subject of fascination today.

There are many wonderful scents and perfumes available in toiletries and body perfumes. Essential oils provide us with perfumes which are entirely natural without chemical additives and which are healing as well as pleasant in their effect. Incense sticks provide a means of perfuming through fumes, which is where our word for perfume originally came from. And of course we have all the perfumed delights of nature to enjoy in our walks in the wild, in our enjoyment of our garden, or in the delicate scent of a rose.

In a variety of ways we seek to indulge our sense of olfaction as we continue to increase the use of perfumes in our lives.

Most gardeners include a variety of perfumed herbs and plants in their gardens.

We use scented oils to keep away flies and insects.

Although we no longer have to spread scented rushes on the floor to take away bad odours in the home, we still wish to use perfumed sprays in bathrooms and toilet areas.

We generally use scents to provide a pleasing atmosphere throughout the house and when preparing for dinner guests.

Oils from timber are favoured for application to existent furniture to help preserve it and also for scent.

Many burn incense whilst meditating.

Churches burn copious resins and oils in their ritual incense.

Physiotherapists, naturopaths and aromatherapists use perfumed massage oils on skin.

Therapists prescribe direct inhalation of essential oils to relieve symptoms of illness.

Vaporizers are essential in relieving respiratory problems.

Bath oils are used to provide a delightful way of relieving stress.

Scented pillows as favoured for sleep inducement.

Healing oils such as eucalyptus and peppermint are used as embrocation or as an inhalant in cases of bronchial and respiratory problems .

Essential oils can be diluted with almond oil for use as a safe underarm deodorants.

A drop can safely be smeared on a light globe to diffuse light scent

A few drops of a perfumed oil on a tissue can be placed in a paper bin – or even rubbish bin for a pleasing effect.

Essential oils such as rosemary can be diluted with olive oil and massaged into the scalp to perfume the hair when brushing.

Perfumed oil can be massaged into the feet before bed to aid relaxation.

These and many other ingenious ways are used in making practical use of perfume in modern lifestyles.

However, the most important to so many of us, is the use of body perfume. This popular interest in perfumes however seems to arise not only from a desire to seem attractive but because of the need to have expression of the personality through the quality of one’s personal body perfume and this requires patience and discrimination in selecting ‘your’ personal perfume for regular use. Selecting from the enormous range of commercial perfumes is a daunting task but there are many who enjoy the search. Selecting from the natural essential oil range is somewhat easier because it is limited compared with the sophisticated fashionable perfumes.

Discrimination is the first thing to cultivate, in order to fully benefit from the knowledge of perfumes and delight in them to the full. It is necessary to consciously develop your olfactory sense as a wine taster must do with the palate.

Always remember that certain artificially produced scents can be harmful when inhaled and some deodorizers actually work on the principle of deadening your sense of smell rather than trying to cancel the odour. All chemical products can have short or long term negative effects so the caution is repeated – use the natural essential oils and perfumes in preference to a product that uses chemicals in its production. The sense of smell is extremely delicate and can be seriously injured, as can the brain, by inhalation of the smell or vapours of toxic materials.

Some of the popular and delightful natural perfumes available as essential oils are Lavender, Sandalwood, Neroli, Lemon, Rose, Lemongrass, Ylang-ylang and Pine, but there are many others to try.

Essential oils are strong and usually require only a drop or two with any application.

However, should you suffer skin reaction, or wish to dilute the pure essential oils, almond oil is advised.

Use Tai Chi As An Alternative Form Of Health Therapy

More and more people are looking at the different alternative health therapy options these days. In this article, I write about the health benefits which using tai chi can bring. I hope you enjoy the read.

Tai chi is the most popular exercise in the world today. It is relatively new to the western world but is becoming more and more popular. The two thousand year old Chinese martial art is quite simple to do and has many benefits.

I have been attending tai chi classes for around a year now and it has massively helped me to control my anxiety and stress levels. Stress has been a big factor in my life and I have always struggled to think in a positive way. I now try many alternative treatments to manage my stress including meditation and tai chi. Both work very well for me.

I was introduced to tai chi by a friend. I must say that I did not really know much about it before this. He told me that it had helped him no end in controlling his depression. His name is John and he has many issues in his life which not only affect his self-confidence but also makes him very depressed at times. John has been attending tai chi classes for nearly two years and has seemingly become a new man. For whatever reason he did not tell people about what he was doing. On a night out I mentioned to him that he had been a lot happier in the recent months. This is when he talked to me about tai chi. He also asked if I would like to attend the classes with him, which I duly agreed to. I am very glad that we had this conversation as I can also quite easily spiral into a state of depression.

It may be a piece of mind thing as I know that I will be attending a tai chi once a week, but I am now very able to deal with stress and am far less anxious than I ever used to be.

People have also mentioned that I look far healthier and even that I look younger than before. This is supposed to be another benefit of tai chi, it helps to delay the aging process. This is good for somebody like me as people always thought that I was around five years older than I actually was.

Other health benefits of tai chi:

Helps to keep people mobile well into old age

Helps to improve balance

Helps to reduce asthma

Helps people to recover from certain injuries

Helps to boost the immune system

Helps to lower blood pressure

In conclusion, if you are like me and are a person who is always stressed out and often depressed, tai chi could be the answer for you. Give it a go and it could change your life.

It goes without saying that tai chi is not for everybody and I would also recommend meditation, reflexology, aromatherapy, and hypnotherapy.

I am a person who likes to try new things as I am always trying to improve my life. I want to live a long, happy and stress free life. Using these forms of alternative treatments is helping me to achieve this at the moment.

Gentian Violet for Thrush

What is gentian violet?

Gentian violet sounds like something that is very sophisticated but actually it is not. It certainly is not a color but rather gentian violet is just a quite popular treatment for thrush. Thrush occurs because of infections on the skin or mucous membranes inside the mouth and may infect both infants and adults.

People at special risk for developing thrush are the following: newborn babies, denture users, adults with diabetes or other metabolic disturbance, people undergoing antibiotic or chemotherapy treatment, drug users, people with poor nutrition and people with an immune deficiency. These people or the people around them, whichever is applicable, should be extra observant so that any signs or symptoms of thrush can be detected and then treated right away otherwise the condition has a chance of worsening.

It is a belief of many that gentian violet is the most effective treatment of nipple soreness for breastfeeding mothers. The mothers who have used gentian violet can attest that relief is rapid so meaning it usually works right when you need it meaning as soon as possible but make sure that the dosage is right. To be discussed in the paragraphs to follow are some of the suggestions to people who use and about to use gentian violet for thrush. These next items will indeed be very useful to gentian violet users.

Gentian violet can be messy so timing, though not everything in this case, of the application of this treatment is essential. Most mothers prefer to doing the treatment just before they get a good night’s sleep because during those house they can keep their nipples exposed thus no need to worry about staining their clothes while the application is in progress.

The effect of the gentian violet for thrush is sort of immediate and in most cases thrush is one hundred percent gone by the third day if not then consider applying affected areas for a few more days. If problem persists then it is time to consult your doctor.

If baby is irritable while being nurse by a mother who uses gentian violet for thrush then the mother should stop using the gentian violet immediately and then go see a doctor instead for other possible suggestions for the treatment of the thrush.

There are other ways to cure thrush but gentian violet is still the one thing that people readily look for when thrush occurs. In this case there is a need to make sure that it is the genuine gentian violet for thrush and not some rip off medicine that you have in hand. This is so because some people are questioning the credibility of gentian violet and some attribute the failed times of gentian violet to fake products that do not have same ingredients as the real gentian violet.

These are just some of the things that users of gentian violet for thrush should be aware of. The notes are just easy to remember. It is now possible for you to recall how and why gentian violet should be used for thrush. If unfortunately one day you wake up and discover that you have thrush then you can use the information in this article for your own good. Otherwise you can always provide the information you have read to a very worried mother whose kid has thrush but who knows nothing about gentian violet.

The Ancient Healing Art of Reflexology

Reflexology like so many of the complementary therapies is not new. It has been around for a long time and was known in ancient Indian, Chinese and Egyptian civilisations. Wall paintings dating from 2330 BC were found in the tomb of Ankhmahor in Egypt. Murals depicted the practical use of aromatherapy, acupuncture and herbalism as well as reflexology; surely if these healing techniques were ineffective they would have been discarded a long time ago!

Linda Anderson, Member of the British School of Reflexology, is based in Saffron Walden in the U.K. She tells us that modern Reflexology started with an American physiotherapist, Eunice Ingham who, the 1930s, was shown a series of “foot maps” by a visiting team of Chinese doctors. The doctors used the charts for diagnostic purposes. The material sparked Eunice’s interest and she soon started investigations of her own. She experimented with sensitivities in the feet to see where such sensations led her. To her astonishment she discovered that massaging the points depicted on the feet in the Chinese diagrams could alleviate many bodily ailments. Soon, “the foot lady” as she came to be known, was able to draw up her own map and went on to found “The International Institute of Reflexology” in the early years of the Second World War.

Linda is quick to point out that in spite of the fact the Chinese doctors were using the reflexes to determine a diagnosis, reflexology is not used as a diagnostic tool today. However, it is wonderfully relaxing, producing an overall feeling of well-being which acts as a very effective counter-point to the stress that is all pervasive in the modern busy world! She says that all organs and parts of the body have specific reflex points which can be found on the hands and the feet. Congestion, an infallible pointer to “dis-ease”, makes itself known by sensitivity in the reflex points. Often the blockage is due to a build up of toxins. Very occasionally, when pressure is applied to a reflex point, the client will yelp in pain. This is a sure sign that something is amiss. A good reflexologist is considerate and gentle and will avoid causing unnecessary discomfort whilst using the feedback to delicately massage the client’s feet and restore the free flow of energy. In the process, toxins are released and congestion dispersed, leaving the client feeling relaxed and re-vitalised.

Linda explains that the average “Reflexology Session” lasts from 45 minutes to one hour. The Therapist works on the hands and feet by massaging with the thumb in short creeping movements. The idea is to cover all the reflex points in the time available. Special attention is given to any sensitive areas, which are massaged gently until the sensitivity diminishes. Thus energy blockages are cleared and “chi”, the Chinese word for “life-energy,” is able to circulate freely once more, allowing the body’s own healing energies to come into play and restoring its natural equilibrium.
