Reflexology on the NHS? Put a Foot Down for Funded Referrals

Are the days of the good old family doctor gone forever, the archetypal doctor who knows your medical history first hand?

Sadly it seems so, with GP’s in Britain busier than ever before, dealing with more constrictions, and time limitations, leaving patients feeling un-listened to and hurried.

With more people taking an active interest in health issues and in particular the detrimental effects of stress on the body, along with an abundant medical resource at their finger tips in the form of the colossal encyclopedic internet, patients often now diagnose their own symptoms before visiting their GP.

The growing interest in the use of complementary health treatments has seen a definite shift in patient attitudes, with many combining orthodox treatments with Acupuncture, Shiatsu, or Reflexology to help specific problems, but also as a preventative treatment to help keep their body in good balance.

Patients are now recommended Reflexology treatments by many GP’s and Reflexologists are working alongside nurses across the country in hospices and voluntarily in NHS hospitals.

“Research has shown that approximately 20% of the UK population use complementary healthcare, with nearly 50% of GP practices offering some form of access to complementary treatments.” The Prince of Wales Trust for Integrated Health

The change has been slow in up take, but is gathering momentum fast, with more GP’s seeing the positive benefits of Reflexology, and pioneering organisations such as the Prince of Wales Trust for Integrated Health, pushing for regulation, integration and ultimately funded referrals, change is afoot, quite literally!

It is a very positive time for integration with orthodox medicine which has been saving thousands of lives since the middle of the 19th century and in the past fifty years has given the UK the free health treatment we all want and need on the NHS which was established in 1948.

Eastern complementary medicines, practised for centuries are seamlessly merging, creating a well rounded and diverse health system, giving the patient more choice, more time and most importantly, more treatment.

Now that GP’s are referring patients for Reflexology, the next push is for funded referrals, at the moment only those who can afford Reflexology are enjoying its benefits and often the people that cannot such as the elderly for example, are the most in need.

There are some complementary health clinics and some Doctors surgeries that do offer funded referrals, which is a really positive step, but currently they are the exception rather than the rule, the fact that its happening is very encouraging for patients, practitioners and for the recognition of Reflexology as a treatment that really works.

How we can all help:

Patients using Reflexology: Tell your GP’s how you’re benefiting from Reflexology and make inquiries about funded treatments.

Reflexologists: Encourage patients to ask their GP’s for funded treatments, the more people asking, the louder the message will become.

The Healing Crisis

A healing crisis may occur when the vital forces within the body build up enough strength to handle detoxification. A healing crisis manifests when the body is ready. For example:

1. You have caught up on your rest.

2. You have stopped taking drugs/chemicals/alcohol and other nutrients that are not working for you.

3. You replace old and destructive eating patterns with new healthy eating patterns.

4. You have cleansed enough from your system to strengthen the nervous system or blood supply.

Eating fresh raw fruits and vegetables:

1. Improves oxygen utilization

2. Helps burn up waste products in the system
3. Stabilizes the bloods pH and makes it more alkaline. This, in turn, gives the body energy to fight off disease, so that it can detoxify and rebuild (in that order).

Note: Cooked, processed, or pasteurized fruits and vegetables are devoid of enzymes. Heat kills many vitamins. Cooked fruits will make the body more acidic. Disease only survives in acid bodies, so you really need to eat raw foods for optimal health. Consuming three servings EACH DAY of raw fruits and vegetables is the minimum for optimal health.

Hering’s law of cure: All cure comes from within the central core of your body first, then moves outward and from the top of your body, down to your feet and in reverse order in which the first symptoms occurred. Working from the head downward, one must clear old thought patterns, attitudes, and feelings and replace them with new healthier thought patterns, attitudes and feelings.

The following symptoms may occur occasionally during a healing crisis. These are a signs that “housecleaning” is occurring:

Fever, swollen limbs/face, headaches, mobilization of mucous, weakness, weight-loss, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and other digestive disorders, pains resurfacing, worsening of existing symptoms, rapid pulse, skin eruptions, and some say they feel like their world is “collapsing”.

Yuk. Why would you want to feel like that!? And how do you tell if you are going through a healing crisis or just another bout of disease? Good question….Read on….

The Answer: You can only get better, permanently, by shifting back into time. Therefore, you may have to experience some uncomfortable brief symptoms. You know when you are having a healing crisis because:

1. The crisis usually lasts only one to three days. The symptoms can be so mild that you may not recognize that it is a healing crisis.

2. At the end of the healing crisis you feel much better than before the healing crisis occurred.

3. You are eating all the right things and up until the healing crisis have had a good attitude.

4. You know you are making changes in your lifestyle and are working on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of your life.

5. You are mentally prepared to get through the healing.

6. You may have just pampered yourself with some kind of bodyworkthis sometimes stimulates a healing crisis. This is a good thing.

If you are truly sick, the symptoms above feel awful as time progresses. The symptoms are more than transient and more than mild. In your gut you know you don’t feel right. You don’t feel that higher plane of health. See a doctor or your favorite healer for advice and drink lots of water.

I remember going through my own healing crisis. Once in college I had a pig tip a fence panel on top of my foot, breaking my big toe. I could not walk on it for more than a week and boy was it black and blue.

During one healing crisis 16 years after that incident, the same toe turned black and blue. I had not done anything to it and it didn’t hurt at all. It was so strange. The bruise went away in three days. I recognized it as a healing crisis because I had just worked through other dis-eases. I was studying to be a naturopath at the time and had made a list of all the physical disturbances and diseases I had experienced in my life. I reviewed some of the other symptoms that had come up in the last 60 days and working backwards from the most recent diseases backward, the toe incident was in that time frame of healing.

As healing crisis symptoms come up (if they do), they will last just a fraction of the time of the original disease and not be as severe. Chemicals and drugs will come out of the body as well when the body builds sufficient energy and strength to liquefy and throw off catarrh (mucous). I’ve noticed this may take a couple of years of nutrition and cleansing in the most chronic situation.

Detoxification of chemicals happens in a variety of ways. For example sulfur escapes through the skin, mercury through furuncles (boils), ulcers, abscesses, opens sores and hemorrhoidal discharges. Toxic gases find their way out of the body through body odor, furry tongues and in bad breath.

APPLY WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED:

Exercise: In a journal or on a piece of paper think back to your childhood.

1. Write down everything that ever went wrong health-wise.

2. Now organize these in a time line.

3. Write them in the order of most recent to least recent.

4. Now draw little box by each item in the left hand margin.

When you start your healing process, check off the boxes as you experience the symptoms. This exercise teaches you to notice what is going on in your body. Sometimes the symptom will be so mild you may think it is a coincidence. Other symptoms, like swollen lymph nodes, may last longer. This is a wonderful experience and positive reinforcement that you are making progress in your health.

A patient may go through several heeling crises at various time intervals indicating reversal of more than one condition. When your body is ready to heal it will release the toxins. There really is no way to determine exactly when or if a healing crisis will occur. One can never predict which symptoms will present or how severe hey will be.

Ways to work through a healing crisis:

1. Drink lots of water.
2. Treat yourself to a massage or hot bath.

3. Apply a piece of felt soaked with castor oil to the liver area and cover the area with saran wrap. This is called a “castor oil pack” and draws the toxins from the body. Repeat and change daily for 3-5 days.

4. Fast for a day or two.

5. Get a chiropractic adjustment.

6. Pray and do some attitudinal work.

7. Find a support team to ask questions about your healing.

This is a great time to pamper yourself. You deserve it for all your efforts.

Dr. Bernard Jensen says:

“We cannot expect sweet thoughts with a sour stomach. And for this reason, all stress in any organ has an effect on every other aspect of our being. Physical, emotional, mental and spiritual processes are all interconnected and need to be in balance for healing to occur.”

The Secret Formula to Take 10 Years Off Your Body

This may come as a surprise to you, but last year I did the most amazing thing in
my life. I fasted 23 days on water.

For 23 days, I had nothing but water.

Now you may be wondering: why in the world did I do that?! Let me explain:

I’ve always wanted to fast simply because fasting is the oldest and greatest way to
experience body and mind rejuvenation. It is also a safe process, when properly
supervised.

So in January 2005, I took 6 weeks off and went to Costa Rica to fast with Dr.
Graham, a doctor of Natural Hygiene and fasting expert. For 3 weeks I fasted and
for 3 weeks I ate amazing tropical fruits and vegetables.

After that experience, I looked 10 years younger (basically like a kid)! I doubled my
energy levels, I experienced an invigorating “love of life” that I had never quite felt
before, and I was so powered that in the next months I literally doubled my business
and my income.

What is fasting?

What I learned in Costa Rica with Dr. Graham is that fasting is not just about not
eating. It is really about giving the body a complete rest. So in that way, fasting is
resting.

When I was fasting in Costa Rica, I slept or rested about 20 hours a day. Now you
may be wondering: wasn’t that boring?! Let me tell you: it is simply one of the best
things in the world to finally get that rest that you need. It’s the rest you’ve been
longing for all your life, it seems.

When you fast in Costa Rica, you basically spend your time in the hammock, reading
good books, listening to the birds, watching the ocean, chatting with friends,
drinking water, and sleeping all you care for. During that time, your body is at work
healing you.

How fasting works

The body has enough reserves to fast several weeks without any damage
whatsoever. Fasting is not starving. During a fast, your body utilizes its own fat
reserves for survival. It is an ability that all humans have.

When you fast, you give your body a chance to take out the garbage so to speak,
and begin the work of healing and repairing. Because there is no more energy spent
on digestion, all of this leftover energy can be used for rejuvenation.

That is the reason fasting has been used for eons as a way to give the body a
chance to heal itself. That is why so many people experience so many positive
health transformations when they fast. That is also why you could take 10 years off
your body if you decided to go on a properly supervised, water fast.

What to expect on a fast

When you fast longer than a week, you can expect several things to happen. For
one, your body is going to get rid of some toxins. It may be uncomfortable at times
(some people experience temporary nausea or headaches), but it is generally a
painless process.

You won’t feel hunger after just 2-3 days, when your body starts using its own fat
reserves. That may seem amazing, but it’s true I can testify. You might desire
some food for the first week or so, but even that goes away.

You can expect to lose a lot of weight, but if you don’t have much to lose (like me),
it comes back rather quickly after the fast. If you have weight to lose, you can keep
it off after the fast by following a proper diet.

After your fast, your eyes will be brighter, your skin clearer, and you’ll feel like a
child.

How You Can Fast

Fasting is not something you can do on your own! If you want have a good
experience fasting, you need to be supervised by someone who has years of
experience with fasting.

You should have plenty of time for your fast and to recover after your fast. You also
want your fast to be done in a place where the climate is enjoyable all day long (the
tropics are ideal), away from the distraction of modern civilization and surrounded
by trees, water, and beautiful birds.

If you feel ready to take the plunge and experience the magic of fasting yourself,
make sure you select the right fasting environment and the right professional to
supervise your fast.

Also, keep in mind that the best time to fast is when you don’t have time to fast!

A Year Without Colds

Colds seem to arrive along with the holiday season but it’s not something we look forward to and it’s not a present we want. I found a great little solution to this problem several years ago.

I am not a doctor and I do not give medical advice. This works for me and it has worked for friends and relatives who I have shared it with. It’s effective by stopping the cold before it takes hold. It is very inexpensive and works quickly.

You must do this when you feel that tickle in the throat and you begin to feel a cold coming on; you know the feeling, it’s the one you had before you woke up the next day with a full blown cold. The best time to do this is before going to bed that night. I also do this when I have been around people who have a cold.

While lying on my side I have my helper add Hydrogen Peroxide (3%) to my ear, it bubbles and bubbles and can take several minutes before it stops. Once it stops, I turn over and drain that ear into a cloth and have drops put into the other ear.

Continue to alternate the process until you no longer hear the fizzle when you first insert the liquid. If you stop too soon, it won’t work.

Hydrogen Peroxide costs very little; just be sure you are using the 3% (available at drug stores, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc.)

My family and friends love it and have enjoyed being free of colds.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be free of colds this year?

If it works for you, spread the word.

What Is A Holistic Practitioner?

Holistic Practitioners are holistic healing professionals with a gift in one or more areas of healing. From bodyworkers to homeopaths to hypnotherapists, the term holistic practitioner has become one that is often challenging to describe or understand. Hopefully this article will provide you with some clarity on what a holistic practitioner is and how to find one that meets your individual needs.

Saying holistic practitioner is similar to saying doctor. While there are general practitioners that cross along many paths, most specialize in one or more holistic methods or areas. The main areas of specialization are body-centered therapists, energy-centered therapists, mind-centered therapists, soul and spirit-centered therapists, emotional release therapists, and coaches/counselors. All of these therapists strive to bring a greater quality of life to their clients. That may occur through inner balance, self-empowerment, physical ease, or even emotional confidence.

One thing to realize is that many holistic practitioners work in many areas. In fact, it is usually challenging to limit a practitioner to one area. For example, a hypnotherapist may also be a chakra therapist, a bodyworker could also be a spiritual counselor, etc. Also, since the mind-body-soul connection is just that, connected, wherever you begin, be it in energy work, bodywork, or even the mind, you will find that all of you is affected by the work.

Use this article as a guide to explore the realms of possibilities, rather than limiting your choices to an area.

Body-centered Therapists

Samples of body-centered therapists are bodyworkers, massage therapists, pilates and yoga therapists, rolfing professionals(often termed rolfers), acupressure therapists, myofascial release and sports massage therapists, reflexologists, thai massage therapists, watsu practitioners, feldenkrais and alexander method professionals, and movement therapists (this list is provided to offer an overview as there are at least 50 types of body-centered therapists).

While each body-centered therapist has their own way of working with clients, many use a combination of movement, the breath, and physical pressure (from massage to trigger points) to allow the body to release tension. This release of tension then allows the mind to also find a relaxing state. Sometimes the relaxation state is the goal of the sessions, other times, it is the true starting point.

Energy-centered Therapists

Samples of energy-centered therapists are integrative energy workers, reiki practitioners, healing touch practitioners, breathwork therapists, jin shin do and jin shin jytsu therapists, matrix therapists, applied kinesiologists, orgone therapists, polarity workers, cranial sacral workers, qigong and tai chi masters. Acupuncturists and homeopathy practitioners could also be deemed energy workers.

Energy workers often work with energetic ‘maps’ of the body. They look at where the energy is stuck, depleted or overtaxed in the body and work with the individual to bring a level of balance to the body’s energetic system. This balance also affects the mind and the overall body, enhancing ones state of being on many levels.

Mind-centered Therapists

Samples of mind-centered therapists are hypnotherapists, neuro-linguistic programming practitioners (NLP), integrative release therapists(IRT), regression therapists and metaphysicians.

Mind-centered therapists look at the structures of one’s belief systems and how they may be conflicting with and/or not supporting a client’s quality of life. Mind-centered therapists often find the original cause of what the stuck states are and work with the unconscious mind to reframe limiting patterns and beliefs which provide greater resources and confidence for the client to live the life they desire.

Soul and Spirit-centered Therapists

Samples of soul and spirit-centered therapists are shamans, angelic masters, psychic mediums,
intuitive guides and spiritual counselors(who would also fall into the coaching/counseling category).

Soul and spirit-centered therapists work with clients in a variety of ways. A shaman may work with a client using soul retrieval to regain a part of their soul that has been ‘lost’ due to trauma. A psychic may offer an individual information on what will happen on their current path if they don’t make changes. An intuitive may assist a client in talking with a deceased loved one. As with the other categories, there are many ways soul and spirit-centered therapists work with their clients.

Emotional Release Therapists

Samples of emotional release therapists are integrative release therapists, somato-emotional therapists, psych-k therapists and amanae therapists.

Emotional release therapists work with patterns of emotions that are stuck in the body/mind and assist a client in moving through these blocks into greater joy and emotional freedom. Many other therapies, including neuro-linguistic programming, yoga, shamanic work and energy work employ emotional release methodologies.

Holistic Coaches and Counselors

Samples of coaches and counselors are life coaches, empowerment coaches, spiritual and intuitive counselors, holistic psychologists, and nutritional counselors.

Coaches and counselors assist clients in designing and manifesting the life, career, business and health situations that they truly desire. A holistic coach or counselor often works with a client 1-4x per month setting goals, opening belief systems and partnering with the client to provide the support they need to move forward in their lives.

As you can see, the term holistic practitioner can be used to mean a holistic profession trained in any number of areas. Usually, a holistic practitioner will list their areas of expertise in any of their advertising to assist you in determining if they would be a fit for your unique situation.

For information on locating a holistic practitioner, please see my article on ‘Choosing a Holistic Practitioner’ or see Holistic Hometown (www.HolisticHometown.com) for holistic resources in your hometown, and beyond.

Blessings on your journey.

Frankincense in Aromatherapy – Trees, Pearls, and Essential Oil

The Mysterious Frankincense

Used for many thousands of years, the Frankincense tree has perhaps the greatest association with spiritualpractice of any plant on earth. In most of the great ancient cultures, including the Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian, Hebrew, Greek and Roman civilizations, it has played a role inreligious and domestic life. Frankincense has been sought after by kings and valued as highly as gold. Morerecently, the essential oil is gaining popularity with spiritual seekers and natural healers alike. What isso special about this tree that its ‘pearls’ were given as a gift at the birth of one of history’s most reveredprophets?

The Hardy Tree and its Tears

The Frankincense tree, or Olibanum, upon first glance, may seem rather unremarkable. It appears as agiant shrub, with many knurled branches topped with abundant slender leaves and occasionally, small white flowers.A native to northern Africa, it looks like it belongs in the desert, growing in some of the world’sharshest conditions. But it is not the tree itself, but rather its sap that has such profound lore surroundingit. Whenthe tree’s bark is pierced with a knife (known traditionally as a ‘Mingaf’), a milky-white oleoresin is exuded- thought the tree is not harmed. The resin forms droplets known as ‘tears’ or ‘pearls’, which harden intothe orange-brown gum known itself as Frankincense. The English name of this natural incense is derivedfrom the medieval French ‘franc’,meaning ‘pure’ or ‘free’, and from the Latin ‘incensium’, meaning ‘to smoke’.

History’s Most Popular Incense

For more than 5000 years, the hardened resin has been burned in temples throughout Egypt, China andIndia; the Catholic church continues to use it today during Mass. It is one of the four main ingredientsin Jewish ceremonial incense, forming an important part of the Sabbath day offerings. The smoke of Frankincense(as with other ritual incense) is thought to carry prayers to heaven upon it’s smoke. It is also said todeepen the breath and still the mind, making it useful for meditation and yogic practice. Theincense may have health benefits as well, producing a highly antiseptic smoke, keeping churches and churchgoersfree from disease.

According to ancient documents, the great Baal temple of Babylon consumed 2 and a half tons of Frankincensea year. The Frankincense trade was of immense importance in ancient times, peaking about 2000 years ago.Caravans grew to as many as 2 to 3 thousand camels in size. Cities grew up along the trade routes, and heavytaxes and fees for protection, lodging and camel fodder raised the cost of the resin considerably, so muchso that it was valued as much as gold. The wealth involved inspired Alexander the Great to plot to control theregion, though his death happened to preceed the invasion.

Health Benefits

Frankincense resin is thought to have a bounty of health properties – it was an ingredient in a rejuvenateface mask in ancient Egypt (it was also charred and used as the classic heavy eyeliner seen in much ancientEgyptian art), and at one time was “used to treat every conceivable ill to man”. In ayurvedic medicine itis known as salaiguggul, used for centuries to treat many conditions, including arthritis. Modern science has isolated the activecompounds found to have anti-arthritic properties. Called boswellic acids, these components inhibit theinflammatory process, improve blood supply and prevent further cartilage reduction.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Modern natural medicine and aromatherapy have taken to the use of the essential oil of Frankincense. The oil, havinga warm, woody, sweet aroma with a hint of citrus, is steam or CO2 distilled from the resin. It is used for respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, catarrh and asthma; for wrinkles, wounds and dryskin, and in cases of rheumatism, cystitis and leukorrea.

The most important effect of the essential oil may be on the nervous system. Regarded as an antidepressant, the aroma can both relax and revitalize, and can help in cases of nervous tension and exhaustion. Frankincenseoil contains sesquiterpenes, which stimulate the limbic system, the hypothalamus, the pineal and the pituitaryglands. The oil is now being researched for it’s ability to increase human growth hormone production. Further,it is considered to strengthen the immune system, which may in-fact occur as a result of it’s uplifting properties.

Frankincense essential oil can be used in a manner similar to burning of the incense in spiritual practice.Warming in a candle lamp or direct application to the temples and third eye will quiet the mind, deepen thebreath, and promote meditative stillness. It is often blended with Sandalwood, Myrrh and Cedarwood for suchuses, and the single-pointed concentration it invokes is thought to allow the spirit to soar.

Experimenting with Frankincense

Frankincense resin is widely available at reasonable costs. Most is wildcrafted, being extracted fromtrees growing in the deserts of northeast Africa – thankfully, the resource is abundant, as the treeseasily survive harvesting of the pearls. The small chunks of resin can simply be lit by themselves ina dish or similar container, and allowed to smolder and release their smoke. Frankincense is also availablein prepared incense sticks and other incense preparations. In the form of your choosing, simply lightand allow some quiet time to experience the deep aroma.

With the essential oil, a diffuser or warming lamp can be used to disperse the aroma throughout a space. The oil is also found in aromatherapy candles, where it is released from the heated oil beneath the burningwick. Frankincense oil can be applied directly to the forehead (it is non-irritating or sensitizing)where you can both capture the aroma and absorb the oil directly. Again, take a moment to sit quietlyto perceive any effects.

The wonderful gift of the Frankincense tree is available in many ways, and has come highly recommendedfor many thousands of years. Try adding a little Frankincense to your life, and see what the mystery is all about!

Discover the Weird Condition that Is Male Baldness

The most general kind of male baldness is a progressive hair diminishing condition labelled androgenic alopecia more often referred to as male pattern baldness that occurs in fully developed male humans & various other sorts of species. Advanced Hair Studio can offer numerous hair loss treatments such as, Strand by Strand and Advanced Laser Therapy to name a few.

Besides, pattern hair loss is also inherited, and the genetic material is transferred to a kid from either mum or dad, and not just the mother, as had been earlier thought. Pattern hair loss in blokes is the most regular brand of hair loss, & on average entails a diminishing hairline & hair loss on the crown of the cranium. The root cause of baldness in gentlemen is dihydrotestosterone, or DHT for short, which is a by-product of the male hormone testosterone. An added cause of hair loss in gentlemen is hairstyle.

Hair loss is not simply a human attribute. Hair loss is a condition where there is no hair present in the part where it forms, normally this is on the head & arises in both human beings & animals. Hair loss in gentlemen is prominent since every guy has a hair loss causing factor in his body.

Baldness is undeniably a disturbing condition to accept, specially for bloke, where this is much more meticulous. Gentlemen who are not satisfied with their physical state might well select medication that may stimulate the regrowth of hair follicles and aid to stop any further hair loss.

What leads to male-pattern hair loss is when the hair cells begins to shrivel as a result of a build-up of the chemical testosterone and numerous natural oils. What the majority of people seldom realise is that the result of hair loss are linked to several things that regularly have little or nothing to do with hair growth or baldness. Male hair loss, male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia, is an hereditary form which causes male baldness or considerable male hair loss in roughly 66% of all gentlemen around the world.

Arthritis Pain: Why Visualizations May Be Able to Provide Relief

Over 100 different types of arthritis exist, but by far the most common are the “osteo” and the “rheumatoid” varieties. Both may be subject to influence by your subconscious through the use of visualization statements.

Visualization statements represent the specific language that your subconscious wants you to read back to it to help ease your pain. They’re simple and are targeted directly at the main factors that could bring you relief.

You can obtain these statements by learning how to communicate directly with your own subconscious mind. The process is straightforward and can be done at home by working with a facilitator over the telephone. You you need no special skills and no previous experience in working with the subconscious.

Here’s a recap of the two major forms of arthritis, and the role that your subconscious may be able to play to help bring relief:

Osteoarthritis

Arthritis literally means “joint inflammation.” But oddly enough, the form of arthritis that is most common in the world–osteoarthritis–generally does not involve inflammation.

In a healthy joint, a spongy material called cartilage covers the ends of the bones so that they don’t rub up against one another. In osteoarthrtitis, either due to a genetic cause, repeated overuse, or some other reason, the cartilage becomes less elastic over time. This makes it susceptible to damage and deterioration.

As the cartilage wears away, bones may rub together, the tendons and ligaments in the joint may become stiff, bone spurs may appear, and other abnormalities may occur. The result is that the joint becomes painful. Cartilage has no blood supply, and can be nourished only through movement. But pain reduces movement, making the problem worse.

Inflammation is generally not a problem in osteoarthritis, but permanent joint damage is. If the subconscious is brought in before permanent damage has occurred, visualizations may be able to help increase the flexibility of your cartilage and the surrounding tendons and ligaments. Even a slight increase in elasticity may be enough to alleviate some of the pain.

We have not yet worked with a participant who has osteoarthritis. But we have had good results working with back and extremity pain, which involves focusing the subconscious on increasing the elasticity of tendons and ligaments. If it has provided elasticity there, it may be able to do the same for cartilage.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Like osteoarthritis, the rheumatoid variety (called RA) involves a problem with cartilage–but it occurs for an entirely different reason.

In RA, your immune system mistakenly attacks the joints. It sends in white blood cells, which produce chemicals that cause inflammation. This swells the joint lining and wears down the cartilage, narrowing the space between the bones. As the cartilage wears away and the inflammation continues, the joint becomes swollen, tender, painful, and difficult to move.

While we have not yet worked directly with RA, we have worked with psoriatic arthritis pain, which produces joint inflammation in a way similar to RA. Visualizing that the immune T-cells are put into action only when the body is truly attacked by an outside invader seems to work for some cases of psoriatic arthritis, and may possibly work for rheumatoid arthritis.

Reducing the Pain Signal

Imbalances of the joints or the immune system such as the above are a major trigger of pain signals in arthritis. Putting these factors back in balance is thus a preventive measure, one that helps to keep the pain signal from being generated in the first place.

But an important part of your pain relief strategy also needs also to be to attempt to reduce the pain signal once it has been generated. This can be approached by focusing the subconscious on numerous chemical weak points (we call them leverage points) where it may be possible to use visualizations to reduce the pain signal.

If you can learn to engage your subconscious, you most likely will be able to identify which leverage points apply to you. You can then use visualization statements to give your subconscious the daily reinforcement it needs to possibly take the edge off your pain at those points.

Miracle Cure Using Far Infrared Sauna – Detoxify: IS The Lazy, Smart Way to Perfect Health!

Detoxifying is the most essential action anyone can take to start the process towards vibrant, energetic and youthful health. It is staggering to learn how widespread toxins are part of our daily lives. Toxins are unavoidable and hard to eliminate and accumulate over years. The average weakened and toxic body has no way to metabolize this build up of stored chemicals; heavy metals, acids and disease causing toxins….Until Now!

Using a LuxSauna infrared sauna will start you on the road to detoxification. Infrared heat saunas are an amazing improvement over traditional steam rooms and (very) hot rock saunas which produce maximum heat with minimal penetration; millimeters deep. LuxSauna uses far infrared heat waves that uniquely penetrate deep enough into the human body to expedite the elimination of dangerous disease-causing toxins and acids. “Infrared heat is the only heat that penetrates deep enough and hot enough to melt subcutaneous fat, (at 40C or 104F), which is where the body stores dangerous toxins and acids, and literally shakes them lose so they can be directly expelled safely out of the body through our sweat.” Says David Floyd, CEO of LuxSauna Inc.

An added health benefit of using an infrared sauna is weight loss. In addition to expending nearly 600 calories in a half hour session, you will eliminate stored up acids in the body. The average American consumes a predominantly acid diet that overwhelms our bodies. Ironically, the (smart) human mechanism for avoiding damage caused by acids is that the body stores acids away in fat to protect vital organs. No matter how much you diet, the body does not allow the total release of excess fat deposits in most people. Only when the acid is excreted can the body allow the release of stored up fat. Toxins are acid as well, so the alkaline balance can be restored quickly by the use of a sauna as well as the elimination of acids, which will lead to predictable weight loss for those who have excess fat.

Studies have shown that over 95 % of disease is caused by the lack of oxygen. Where there is no oxygen, cancer thrives. Where there is an oxygen or alkaline environment, no disease can survive! The German Biochemist, Dr. Otto Warburg discovered this in 1923 and received the Nobel Prize in 1931 for doing so. Why do most doctors continue to ignore this and prescribe disease-causing drugs that merely hide the symptoms and avoid the cause? Finally, people are starting to become more educated! They are doing their own research and learning that toxins are ubiquitous and unavoidable and are in fact the main cause of disease.

The success of LuxSaunas far infrared saunas is based on our company’s focus on the whole health package, the whole body. All the personnel at Luxsauna spend months in training to fully understand the health benefits and specific detoxification strategies and techniques using a sauna. Our staff motivates people to eliminate their toxic load and modify their diet to consume more alkaline foods and liquids. For example: It takes 10 glasses of 10.4 PH alkaline water to neutralize one can of Coke! So you can see how beneficial an infrared sauna could be. The ability to sweat 3 to 4 pounds of sweat in one half hour session which includes 15%-20% toxins and acids will greatly enhance the speed at which you can alter your ability to create an alkaline and disease free and healthy bodily environment.
